NYC Employment Lawyer Chauniqua Young
An experienced attorney based in New York City, Chauniqua Young has served as a partner and employment lawyer at Outten & Golden LLP since 2021. She oversees all aspects of the firm’s complex employment law litigation, including arbitration and cases in both state and federal court. Her skills include arguing motions, defending depositions, and coordinating comprehensive litigation team efforts. Chauniqua Young initially joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2014.
Chauniqua Young also worked as a law clerk for a judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. As a law clerk, she managed half of the court’s civil docket. Between 2012 and 2014, she represented plaintiffs in landmark civil rights cases as a Bertha Fellow with the Center for Constitutional Rights.
Following her undergraduate studies at Sarah Lawrence College, Chauniqua Young enrolled at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While at Cardozo, before graduating with her juris doctor, she served as president of the Black Law Students Association, co-chaired the Labor and Employment Law Society, and earned the E. Nathaniel Gates Commencement Award. In addition to her law degree, she received a certificate in dispute resolution.
